AluminumAsteroid deposits, extracted with a drill that needs a battery; a few loose nodes in wreckageWrench, tools, most early repairs — the single biggest bottleneckNodes do not respawn; only vending machines and bins replenish. Store spare stacks in Babe’s purse.
PlasticDark growths on the ends of cables (hit repeatedly with the Scrap), pipe pieces around the sentry-turret station, sometimes trash cansKettle, Cutter, early toolsThe most common early soft-lock: crafting the Cutter before the kettle can leave you out of plastic. Bins and cable ends are the fallback.
WiresInside electrical panels — needs the ProbeProbe, wrench and other tools compete for themProbe every panel you pass; build a reserve before spending.

Common metalSmall metallic debris first, then barrels, cans and large orange scrapConverts to refined metalSmall debris stacks fast and leaves inventory room for rarer finds.
Refined metalCrafted from 4 common metal; also harvested from the blue lamps at wire ends and found loose in the frozen areaGas tank, wrench, drills, better toolsIt cannot be unlocked as a recipe early — players who could not craft it found it at the blue lamps.
TitaniumSpiky chunks floating in open space; asteroid deposits via drillHigher-tier toolsScan for loose spikes before spending drill energy.
Rubber → electrical tapeSmash old suitcasesRecipes and maintenanceTape is the part you notice missing only when a repair needs it.
Alkali / alkaline solutionAlkali mole burrows on three asteroids: two behind the train, one near the automatic turret. Kill the mole, then use the Probe on the burrowAlcohol (with ice and nutrient mineral); the shuttle de-icing loop in the main questRespawn is slow or absent — several in-game days without new moles. Treat it as a reserve.
Ice → waterIce blocks broken with the Scrap; carrying too much fills the bagWater via Kettle BobbyChewing dirty ice directly gives a debuff; process it.
FoodFood crates, vending machines, bins; rotten apples in the worldNutri-packs from the Nutri-Pack-O-MatNever eat raw finds — poisoning. Vending machines and bins recharge over time; crates may not.
OxywormsBlue worms floating near the regenerating worm nests on asteroidsEat for emergency O2; craft purified oxygen and air candlesNests themselves refill your tank when you hold the interact key.
NutriwormsFat green worms above the tower wrapped in green growth next to the taxi stationAlcohol (with ice)Needed for the alcohol achievement; the frozen corpse near the snowman also holds 3 bottles.

Resource FAQ

Do resources respawn in Breathedge 2?

Mostly no. Aluminum nodes do not respawn; alkali moles respawn very slowly if at all. Vending machines and trash cans do recharge over time, and oxyworm nests regenerate.

How do I get refined metal?

Four common metal make one refined metal, and the blue lamps at the ends of wires can be harvested for it early. Loose refined metal also sits in the frozen lower area.

Where is plastic?

The dark growths on cable ends (hit them repeatedly with the Scrap), the pipe pieces around the sentry-turret station, and sometimes trash cans. Craft the kettle before the Cutter so you do not run dry.
