Is Breathedge 2 the same thing as Breathedge Chapter 2?
No. “Breathedge Chapter 2” is the second chapter of the first game (2021). Breathedge 2 is a separate sequel that entered Steam Early Access on August 31, 2026. Searches for “breathedge chapter 2” are still the biggest related query, so this site only covers the new game.
Is Breathedge 2 out?
Yes, in Early Access on Steam since August 31, 2026 (15:00 UTC). The full 1.0 release is planned for 2028 according to the official roadmap.
How much does Breathedge 2 cost?
$19.99 USD, with a 20% launch discount ($15.99). RedRuins has said the price will rise gradually as major updates ship, as it did with the first game, so the Early Access start is the cheapest it will be.
Is Breathedge 2 on PS5, Xbox or Switch?
Not yet. The Early Access build is Windows PC on Steam only. HypeTrain’s own page lists the release date as TBA for other platforms; the first game did come to PS4, Xbox One and Switch, so console versions are plausible after 1.0 but nothing is announced.
Is Breathedge 2 multiplayer or co-op?
No. It is single-player only (Steam categories list Single-player, no co-op or crossplay), and none of the roadmap stages mention multiplayer.
How long is Breathedge 2 right now?
One story chapter. The roadmap says “around 10 hours”; players on the Steam forum report finishing the main line in about 5.5 hours, and one 9-hour review reached the end with side quests. It ends on a cliffhanger.
Is there base building or a ship in Breathedge 2?
Not in the current build. The first major update (Q1 2027) adds a personal light vehicle and a personal ship; building and planetary gameplay are scheduled for the Q3–Q4 2027 update.
What difficulty settings does Breathedge 2 have?
Standard, Easy, Story and Hard. You can switch at any time without a new game. Story mode has extremely slow oxygen use; Hotfix 0.8.6 also cut hunger, thirst and fatigue drain by 15% on standard.
Can I turn off or change Sui’s voice?
No option exists yet. The developers say all dialogue and cutscenes can be skipped and “you can tweak pretty much everything”, but a voice toggle is the most requested change on Steam.
What is the train cab door code?
The four-digit number painted on the outside front of the train — 0861 in the Early Access build (seen entered on video Sep 1 and confirmed on the Steam forum Sep 2). Opening it gives the Hacker achievement and a room with tape, alcohol and plastic.
Does the demo still exist?
No. The Steam Next Fest demo (Feb–Mar 2025) was removed; 57,518 people played it and it scored 92% positive. The developers rebuilt almost everything from it, so demo walkthroughs do not match the Early Access layout.
Why does Steam show error 0x11C7 when I launch the game?
Windows 11 Smart App Control is blocking a freshly signed executable. The developers’ pinned post says it is not a corrupted install; it clears as the build gains reputation, or immediately if you turn Smart App Control off.
Is Breathedge 2 VR?
No official VR mode. The first game has a separate VR spin-off, Breathedge: Cosmic Cluck. One Steam review runs Breathedge 2 through the unofficial UEVR injector.
What engine does Breathedge 2 use?
Unreal Engine 5 (PCGamingWiki lists build 5.7.4). Crash logs on the forum reference UE5 shader compilation; deleting the shader cache in AppData/Local/Breathedge2/Saved fixed one launch crash.

Is there a Breathedge 2 subreddit?
r/Breathedge2 exists but had zero subscribers at launch; discussion happens on r/Breathedge, r/BreathedgeGame (mostly video links) and the Steam forum.
